Spend your Saturday morning at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff,
free entry and it's warm and dry inside! Meet at 10am. in the foyer, draw from the wonderful collection of paintings, sculptures, natural history, etc.
Around 11:30 we'll be in the downstairs cafe for coffee and a chat and then, if you can stay longer, there's a free tour starting at 12:30pm - highlights of some of the art galleries with a volunteer guide (book at the information desk on arrival).

Meet outside Barry Town Hall & Library at 10am. and sketch in King Square for an hour before going in to the Art Central Gallery for the latest exhibition of work by VOGA (Vale of Glamorgan Artists).
Richard and two other artists will be talking about their work between 11am and 12 noon.

Sunday 3 Sept from 2:30 to 4:30pm Croesllanfro Farm, Newport is open as part of the National Gardens Scheme - come and draw in these beautiful surroundings. Two acres of mass plantings, stone barn and formal courtyard, with indoor areas if the weather is wet. Home made teas available.

'Six Hands' – an exhibition of drawings by Antonia Spowers and Martina Jirankova-Limbrick. Charcoal, pen and pencil, line and tone drawings of the artists’ hands, feet and life drawings. As well as framed images, there are others hanging washing-line style - an exciting, addictive display.

Saturday 11 Feb from 10am Cardiff Drawing Group goes to Newport
We'll be drawing at the Barnabas Arts House gallery, very quirky, and also weather permitting, along the river front or around the new town centre. The gallery has a good little coffee shop serving sandwiches, paninis and cakes. And very nice too!
Whether you travel by train, by bus or by car, we'll meet at the gallery itself around 10-10:30am. to chat with the owner and see the exhibition space.

Visit the Artes Mundi show and the new exhibition - a collection of traditional Chinese Bird and Flower Paintings. Free entry to both exhibitions.
We draw, then go to the downstairs cafe around 11:30 for coffees and an arty chat together.
Saturday 10th December from 2pm at Cardiff Museum.
Meet inside, near the reception desk (just before 2pm) and we will join the Artes Mundi guided tour to hear the stories behind works on show.
Then it's our own choice of drawing in the galleries before coffee and chat in the downstairs cafe around 3:30pm

We're off to Bath for the Jerwood Drawing Exhibition.
Meet 10am at Cardiff Central Station for the 10:27am train to Bath Spa.
Then a bus to University of Bath Campus for coffee & cake at The Edge Cafe.
See the exhibition and get inspired to sketch on-site before a meal in the nearby Lime Tree food court.
Bus back to Bath centre for sight-seeing and xmas shopping.
Train home to Cardiff.

wildlife. There's also a reconstructed village with big barns and

Sketch those flowers and fish, barbers and bacon, welsh cakes and wigs, and also complete a special CDG Market Quiz to test your powers of observation!
POSTPONED Unfortunately our Market Day drawing session will be postponed .... Cardiff is expecting 66,000 spectators on Saturday 30th April at the Judgement Day event, with two major rugby matches being held at the Millennium Stadium. Some city centre roads will be closed, with trains, buses and car parking disrupted. So, we'll arrange to visit the Market on a different date. Please check this CDG blog for the latest info.
